Working together, Learning together

Events

Events are a great way for the whole school to get together and celebrate our school family. Here is a selection of some of our annual events.

Sports Day

Try Something New Day

Try Something New Day gives children the chance to try an activity they have not experienced before. Every year group (Foundation through to Year 6) takes part and children from each year group our combined together into teams.  These teams then spend the day rotating around 4 of a possible 16 activities to experience something new. It is wonderful to see the team spirit in action and to witness our older children supporting the younger members of the group.

Activities that have been offered in the past include Dodgeball, Indoor Caving, Kick-Rounders, Circuits (x2), Skipping, Archery, Hockey, Orienteering, Yoga, Golf - all delivered by the teachers and staff at the school (a talented bunch!) plus external coaches who donated their time free of charge.

Art Day

For many years. Christmas at Hungerford Primary has become even more special with our annual Christmas Art Day. A day when the whole school join together in their own house groups made up of all children from Foundation to Year 6 and have a great time getting to know and helping each other.

It’s so much fun with each teacher organising a specific Christmas Art Activity and then teaching it to three different mixed groups of children. An exciting, fun and educational day for everyone and even better news, the PTA fund the whole experience!!
