Hungerford Primary School is a ‘Healthy School’. Healthy School Status requires schools to meet criteria in four core health themes: Personal, Social and Health Education (including Sex and Relationship Education and Drug Education), Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health.
As a Healthy School, we:
- Promote physical, social and emotional health and equip pupils, staff and families with the skills and attitudes to make informed decisions about their health,
- Support pupils to do their best and build on their achievements,
- Recognise the importance of investing in health to assist in the process of raising children and young people's achievement levels,
- Involve the whole school community, parents, governors, staff and pupils in improving children's health, wellbeing and happiness, helping them to get the most out of life.
Parents of children aged 5 - 11 can reach West Berkshire's School Nurses Team on 07312 263194 to ask for advice and support on concerns such as sleep, bedwetting, healthy eating, dealing with medical conditions in school, emotional health and wellbeing, behaviour and parenting challenges.
